The film follows a tale of love between Valerie (Seyfried) and Peter (Fernandez), a wayward young couple who are caught in a classic scenario of disapproval by her parents, who have scheduled her to be married to a wealthy young man (Irons). As they attempt to flee together, the village werewolf has decided to feast on a human being – her sister – despite the truce with the local village that the beast has agreed to. Demanding vengeance, the villagers call in a werewolf hunter named Father Soloman (Oldman), who warns the village that the werewolf could be any one of them by day.
