Amanda Seyfried sat down with Diablo Cody in the “Red Band Trailer” to talk about Mean Girls, Jennifer’s Body, her music and much more. Enjoy the video and 288 screen captures!
Amanda Seyfried has shared the big screen with plenty of attractive leading men, the latest being Justin Timberlake, which may be why she told us she has no qualms about filming love scenes! Amanda and Justin star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller In Time, playing an unlikely pair forced on the run after Justin’s character is charged with murder. We caught up with Amanda at a recent press day for the movie in Beverly Hills, where she talked about the physically demanding role, what she makes time for in her own life, and getting intimate with Justin on set.
In Twentieth Century Fox’s new sci-fi crime thriller, Justin Timberlake is accused of murder and on the run with a hostage — Amanda Seyfried — in a future where time is literally money. The two Hollywood celebrities sat down with Buzzine’s Roxanna Bina to talk about the fascinating concept of the film, becoming action heroes, and what they would do if they had all the time in the world or just one day left…
Roxanna Bina: This is quite a change of role for you. Do you see yourself going the route of the action hero?
Amanda Seyfried: I think I’m always trying to look for diversity. I just don’t want to get bored doing any one thing. But it is fun – this is much more of an action thriller than Red Riding Hood was, and the concept is just unbelievable. It is like a futuristic world that we don’t quite know, and that’s always fun – to try to create a character within a world that I’m not familiar with…although there are so many similarities, it’s easy to relate to in certain ways as well. I think that’s why I wanted to do it so much – because it was such a high concept, and it was so stylized that I had to play Sylvia. There’s a great shift that happens very early on for her, and it was fun reading that shift, and then being able to create that.
RB: What are the themes you enjoyed exploring with In Time, and what is this movie about, beyond the thrill of the ride?
AS: It’s about how our classes are so separate and this is how we actually live – our world – and I think it’s scary because this is so much more literal. In this movie, the poor have no time to live and they live day by day, and it makes for a much more exciting lifestyle, of course. It’s very scary and depressing in some ways, but the rich have all the time in the world and they can be immortal, which is also a really depressing idea, and they don’t do much at all – they just try to keep themselves healthy, which is represented as being very boring. So there’s just such a separation between the two, and I think, in this world, it would be so much better if the people with the money were able to share it more freely, which doesn’t seem as easy, for whatever reason – greed or just…I don’t know – anything. But I think it reflects on how our society behaves, and that’s scary, but I think it’s also gonna remind a lot of people, after they see it, that there is a way to kind of merge the two. Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried interview each other in 60 seconds for Cinemax. These two are hilarious! Their movie ‘In Time’ comes out this Friday (October 28th).
Amanda Seyfried and her co-star Justin Timberlake did a behind the scenes interview about their characters in ‘In Time’ which hits theaters in 11 days. Enjoy the video and captures!
Amanda, in In Time, your character, a rich girl, is kidnapped by Justin Timberlake’s character.
It’s set in the future, where money buys you time. My character falls in love with Justin’s character—she wants to give him all the time he needs so he can save the world. It’s very romantic. No matter what’s happening in my life, I can always get lost in the romances of my characters.
And what about sex scenes?
Sex scenes are great. A lot of my costars have been sexy guys my age, and so, why not? I’m not going to pretend it’s not fun. Justin was great—he had come from doing Friends With Benefits, where he basically had sex every day at work—and so it was easy for both of us. We just kind of got it on, and then were like, “That was good!”
You’re 25. Did you dance to any songs by ’N Sync at your prom?
I went to four different proms in high school. I was addicted to the whole ballroom thing. But it was embarrassing to be an ’N Sync fan in high school. I was into them in middle school. I definitely danced in my friend’s basement for hours and hours to ’N Sync’s first album.
Did you start your acting career in high school plays?
No, but when I was in high school, I did two soap operas—one when I was 15, and again when I was 17, I was on All My Children. I hopped between the soap in New York and classes in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I compartmentalized the whole thing and nobody in high school really cared that I was on TV. Everybody was more worried about sex—having it or not having it—and drinking and boys. I met my first boyfriend on All My Children—it was like a fairy tale. He was my boyfriend on the show and in real life. We kissed for the first time on the soap opera.

Justin Timberlake had an unusual stipulation in his contract for his upcoming film “In Time” with Amanda Seyfried.
“I have a clause in my contract that says if you put someone as beautiful as Amanda in the movie, I have to fall in love with her,” the actor joked at a press conference during Comic-Con.
In the sci-fi thriller — which hits theaters in October — the duo is on the run after Timberlake’s character is accused of murder.
Although they spent a lot of time together during the filming of the movie, they also spent a lot of time with each other off-camera, as well.
“There are a lot of guns [in the movie], which we both really enjoyed,” Seyfried revealed at Comic-Con. “We sometimes went shooting after hours.”
In regards to Timberlake’s other leading lady, Olivia Wilde, the actor-singer had a little bit of trouble working alongside her.
“It was a mind trip for me,” he said of the newly-single actress, who plays his mother in the film. “Olivia is two or three years younger than me, so to have her playing my mother was definitely a head trip.”
Timberlake was reportedly romantically linked to Wilde back in April, but the “House” star took to Twitter to dispel any rumors, saying that the pair’s relationship is strictly platonic.
