Rom-com queen Amanda Seyfried has reportedly bought a $1.9 million two-bedroom apartment in Greenwich Village’s esteemed Devonshire House.
The “Letters to Juliet” star paid $1.9 million — a little over the $1.875 million asking price — for the two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo on E. 10th Street, reports Curbed.com. Seyfriend, 24, reportedly bought the pre-war apartment through over the summer through an LLC which kept her anonymous until now.
The swanky new apartment may have been the motivation behind Seyfried’s decision to take on so many romantic comedy roles. The “Mamma Mia” actress hinted in the March issue of Vanity Fair that movies with onscreen swooning “pay a lot” and that she was saving up for a Manhattan apartment.
“Sometimes, when you want to buy an apartment in Manhattan, you gotta do one or two [romantic comedies],” Seyfried told the magazine.
When asked if her role in “Dear John” paid for the digs, Seyfried told the magazine, “No, it was Letters to Juliet.”
The actress’s new home was handled by Stribling, whose listing described the fourth-floor apartment as a fusion of traditional Italian decor with English flourishes. The 1,500-square-foot condo was decorated by famed interior designer Victoria Hagen.

LOS ANGELES — Catherine Hardwicke understands impetuous teen heroines the way George Lucas reverse-engineers robot sidekicks. In March, the director of “Twilight” and “Thirteen” will unleash her newest troublemaker upon the world with a dark, sensuous spin on “Red Riding Hood.” The trailer for “Red Riding Hood,” which stars Amanda Seyfried in the title role, is playing with the new “Harry Potter” film. It got us wondering about what’s in store.
This Red Riding Hood isn’t so little. She’s a young woman, apparently caught in a love triangle.
Q: Where did the idea of sexing up this folk tale originate?
A: It came from Leonardo DiCaprio. He came up with the idea: “Wouldn’t it be cool to do a Gothic twist on Red Riding Hood, with the wolf being a werewolf, and just have a cool, sexy romantic thriller?” His company, Appian Way, commissioned David Leslie Johnson, who wrote “Orphan” with them, to write the screenplay.
Q: Where did you shoot this?
A: Vancouver. It’s mostly a stage build. We had to build the village from scratch. It’s our own created world. Our village has very muscular, heavy timber construction. All the buildings are raised up on stilts, and they have spikes because 1/8the people have3/8 lived in fear and paranoia for decades as they’ve been menaced by this wolf.

Fans have been clamoring for information about the Catherine Hardwicke-helmed, Amanda Seyfried-starring “Red Riding Hood.” And when the film hits theaters next year, Seyfried promises it will be nothing like the story they heard as children. This tale is a lot, lot darker.
“‘Red Riding Hood’ is a classic fairy tale that we all know, and what fans can expect from this version of the story is that it’s basically just a jumping-off point. Catherine Hardwicke has just completely turned this story into something edgy and gothic and dark, and she’s clearly somebody that’s very capable of turning something, everything into an extraordinary world, as we’ve seen before,” Seyfried said about the film in an interview with “The Seven,” which premiered a trailer for the flick Tuesday (November 16).
“And also there’s a romance aspect to the film, which isn’t in the fairy tale … a lot of romance and a lot of danger,” she continued. “There’s a wolf at the center of the story, and it’s exciting ’cause it’s a whodunit.”
Sure, the fairy tale that the flick is based on is plenty scary, but Seyfried reveals that whatever frightening elements were there to begin with have gotten much more frightening under Hardwicke’s supervision, and thanks to a cast that includes Gary Oldman and Julie Christie.
“Fans will be surprised by the tone of the film,” she explained. “Catherine just completely throws it into this dark world, and it’s a little scarier than it was meant to be when it was written. We had this freedom to go far with it, so whatever preconceptions the audience has, they should throw it out the door.”

Confirmed! This red hot romance is on … but we hope Amanda likes kids, because this pair was no one-night stand!
After trying to escape a Halloween party together without being noticed (that didn’t work so well), Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried were also seen the next morning leaving his house. And now …
Looks like it wasn’t just a Hollywood tryst for these two lovebirds. The new couple was spotted getting cozy at Hollywood hot spot La Poubelle on Nov. 18. Ryan, dressed down in a black hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap, seemed completely smitten with 24-year-old Amanda. “Ryan and Amanda were totally into each other. She was sitting on his lap,” a source tells us. “They were laughing, talking and even left together.”
La Poubelle has become quite the hot couple hotspot — it’s also a favorite of a couple you may have heard of … Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
